Tom Jones
Sir Tom Jones, knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, is one of the most renowned names in music history worldwide. He began his career at the dawn of the pop music era and, at 84 years old, continues to produce new music and deliver unforgettable live performances. On July 10th, Tom Jones will once again meet the audience on Liseberg's Main Stage.
- The last time we had the honor of hosting Tom Jones, he had the entire audience singing along to his incredible repertoire of hits. It is an honor and a given to welcome him back to Gothenburg and Liseberg, says Johan Gummesson, artist booker at Liseberg.
Jones has a career spanning five decades, transcending genres and musical eras. His music, with hits like "It's Not Unusual," "What's New Pussycat," "Delilah," "If I Only Knew," and "Sex Bomb," has been listened to and loved by multiple generations, and he continues on and on again to remain relevant.
His latest album, "Surrounded by Time" (2021), originated from a desire not only to reflect on his musical legacy but to extend it further. The album was recorded in his homeland of Wales and includes songs that Jones had set aside in earlier years, waiting to do them justice. It features yet another musical treasure trove, including interpretations of songs by Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, and Malina Reynolds. The album has received excellent reviews and is a testament to Jones's enduring influence.
Now, it is finally time for Jones to meet the audience again, and on July 10th, he will take Stora Scenen at Liseberg.
