Sustainability Liseberg Park
A sustainable Liseberg
Can you have fun while contributing to a better future? For us at Liseberg, this goes without saying. Together with you and our other guests, we make wise, sustainable choices to ensure that a hundred years from now, people can still have as much fun as they do today. It’s what we call believing in the future!
Safe & Secure
Liseberg aims to be Sweden's safest amusement park. Besides offering a fantastic experience, the most important thing for us is that our guests feel safe. We focus on park security through our security guards and hosts, ride safety with extensive safety checks and technical maintenance, food safety, and systematic workplace safety efforts.
At Liseberg, we take pride in our systematic safety work. Every day, before the park opens, the rides are inspected by maintenance mechanics and ride staff. If a deviation or something that could pose a risk is discovered, the ride is closed until the issue is checked and resolved. We feel confident in our routines and processes.
Single-use/Reusable items
For many years, Liseberg has been working to reduce the use of single-use items and has switched to more sustainable materials. Today, most single-use items are made of paper. This is a way to reduce environmental impact.
What you as a guest can do is replace single-use items with reusable products, i.e., products you can use multiple times. Liseberg offers reusable alternatives at all locations where food and drinks are served in single-use items.
Our shops sell reusable bottles that you can fill with water in the park and use over and over again. You can find the various water stations and drinking fountains in the Liseberg app and on liseberg.se.
Choosing reusable alternatives means we save natural resources, reduce waste, and avoid littering.
Food & drinks
When you visit Liseberg, we have made several efforts to ensure your visit is as sustainable as possible. Among other things, we have made sure that you can always find vegetarian and other environmentally friendly options on our menus. There are also several KRAV-certified restaurants where food is prepared seasonally using as many organic and KRAV-labeled ingredients as possible.
Eventually, all restaurants will achieve this certification.
Several of Liseberg's restaurants are "Kranmärkt," which means that only tap water is served instead of bottled water. A large portion of our seafood purchases are certified according to MSC or ASC standards. All our coffee is Fairtrade certified. You will also find candy ropes without palm oil and eco-labeled chocolate prizes in the park.
Waste sorting
From Liseberg Park, we collect and separate approximately 2000 tons of waste each year, with the majority being recycled. All food waste that is separated goes towards producing biogas. Additionally, we have set up several recycling stations throughout the park so that you, as a guest, can help by sorting plastic, paper, glass, and bottles for recycling.
Liseberg strives to reduce food waste. All our restaurants have joined Generation Waste, a tool that helps us monitor, track, and reduce waste. As a guest, you can contribute by finishing your meal. A new option is to leave your prize packaging at one of our games, and we will ensure it is properly sorted for recycling.
Accessibility in the park
Accessibility in the park is important to us, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and has the best possible experience during their visit.
